As we expand our specialist Woodland & Estates Services offering across the South East, we’re seeking a motivated and knowledgeable Estates Sales and Operations Manager to spearhead the division and drive sustainable growth. The Opportunity This is a unique chance to help shape a high-margin, low-risk service model built on Glendale’s operational excellence and environmental stewardship. You’ll lead on business development, project mobilisation, and operational delivery—bringing woodland creation, fencing, vegetation control, and biodiversity-led land management to life for clients across Surrey, Sussex, and Hampshire. What You’ll Be Doing 📈 Driving Growth and Building Client Relationships ● Lead the expansion of Glendale’s woodland and estate services portfolio ● Identify, engage, and secure contracts with key clients: public bodies, private estates, utilities, and developers ● Develop strategic bids, case studies, and proposals in collaboration with our commercial team ● Understand and align with current funding schemes (BNG, ELMs, EWCO) and client ESG goals 🌿 Delivering Operational Excellence ● Oversee end-to-end service delivery, including: ○ Woodland management and planting ○ Habitat creation and aftercare ○ Fencing installation (stock, deer, security) ○ Vegetation and invasive species control ● Coordinate mobile teams, subcontractors, and specialist advisors across multiple counties ● Ensure all work meets Glendale’s standards for safety, sustainability, and compliance 🿝 Leading People and Resources ● Build and manage a lean, agile delivery team ● Share plant and facilities with nearby Glendale hubs for maximum efficiency ● Champion a safety-first, environmentally conscious culture About You We’re looking for someone with: ● Proven experience in estate, countryside, forestry or land-based operations ● Strong commercial awareness and a track record in business development ● Excellent project leadership and team coordination skills ● Understanding of woodland creation, land stewardship, and biodiversity planning ● A collaborative and pragmatic approach to solving problems and delivering value Desirable qualifications: ● NVQ Level 3+ in Forestry, Countryside Management or similar ● LANTRA/NPTC tickets ● SMSTS or SSSTS ● GIS or woodland surveying experience (a bonus) Why Glendale? ● Competitive salary and performance-based incentives ● Company vehicle or vehicle allowance ● Career development in a newly launched growth-focused division ● Work within a supportive and purpose-driven national organisation ● Flexible, field-based role with real autonomy and impact Locations & Travel You’ll work across our key delivery areas: ● Surrey (Godalming / Guildford) ● Sussex (Billingshurst / Pulborough) ● Hampshire (Alton / Winchester) Field-based with access to Glendale hubs and shared facilities.
