Horticulture Apprentice: Mid Sussex

Fixed Term for the duration of the Apprenticeship, leading to a Full Time role

We now seek to recruit a number of staff including Apprentices to support this and other growing contracts nationwide.

Horticulture and Landscape Operatives can be employed to work in public parks and gardens, green spaces, historic gardens, private gardens and estates or in production nurseries and retail outlets. This apprenticeship will mainly focus on horticulture and the soft landscaping activities such as grounds maintenance and plant growth. Work is generally based outside and undertaken throughout the year, so it is required for the successful apprentices to work outside in all weather conditions. Often with people new to the industry, will start with a ‘hands on’ role completing and learning how to effectively complete these tasks, the specialist skills and knowledge will be learnt throughout your apprenticeship.

Who are you?

  • Committed to gaining qualifications and starting your career in Horticulture.

  • A proactive person with a passion to learn all aspects of horticulture. 

  • No previous qualifications required.

  • Be flexible in terms of working hours

  • Minimum of 4 GCSEs at grade D/3 including maths and English OR a vocational Qualification level 1, plus GCSE grade D/3 in both Maths and English

The Opportunity

You will complete an Apprenticeship in Horticulture - Level 2 Horticulture. The duration of the Apprenticeship is 24 months and you will spend 20% of your time training and the rest of the time will involve
