Sales Person

Radlett - Hertfordshire

40 hours/week (Mon-Fri)

Salary Up to £30,000

At its core, Civic Trees is a specialist company dealing with the supply, planting and relocation of semi-mature trees, as well as having a dedicated landscaping team operating throughout the UK.

Due to continued growth we are looking for an enthusiastic and reliable Sales Person with a landscaping or horticultural background at our location in Radlett, Hertfordshire.

We are looking for a dynamic person to join and enhance our sales team. You will be reviewing incoming enquiries, preparing, processing and estimate costs for commercial landscape contracts as well as learning about our Tree planting and relocation business.

The Role

  • Analyse clients BOQs and technical specifications

  • Extract information from tender drawings including taking off quantities both manually and using IT software

  • Collate quotations to calculate materials, equipment and labour costs

  • Liaising with clients, suppliers and subcontractors

  • Utilise several computing packages and online tendering portals

  • Preparing and submitting compliant tenders to meet required deadlines

  • Liaise with other departments to assist in the handover of projects

  • Following up on tender submissions

The Person

  • Must have landscaping or horticulture experience

  • A strong “can do” hands on approach and a willingness to learn

  • Good awareness of tendering and the estimating process

  • A high level of IT proficiency, particularly with Google sheets

  • Excellent numerical skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong organisational skills

  • An assertive and confident manner

  • An understanding of, and an empathy with operational issues

  • The ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines

  • High levels of enthusiasm

  • Resilience

  • Flexibility. There will be a requirement to work away from the main office location as required

  • A team player

  • Able to work on own initiative and be independent but also be recognised as part of the regional team

  • Multi tasking

  • Able to promote the company in a credible and responsible manner

  • Strong in planning and time management

  • A full driving licence is essential to attend site visits on a national basis, and if you have a CSCS card this will be an advantage.

Qualifications

Degree-calibre education is preferable, with demonstrable strong numerical ability and written skills.

Good level of competency in Google Docs in particular a high level of proficiency in google sheets  is essential.
