Role Overview

The Sales & Marketing Manager will lead the development and execution of the company’s sales strategies, marketing campaigns, and client engagement initiatives. They will drive revenue growth, strengthen Civic Trees’ brand presence, and expand the company’s market reach within the landscaping, construction, and environmental sectors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with the General Manager to develop and implement an annual sales strategy aligned with company goals.

  • Manage and grow relationships with key clients: local authorities, developers, landscape architects, environmental consultants, and contractors.

  • Identify new business opportunities and emerging market segments.

  • Produce accurate sales forecasts, pipelines, and performance reports.

  • Assist in the Preparation and delivery of proposals, tenders, and contract negotiations.

  • Coordinate site visits, product demonstrations, and technical consultations where required.

Marketing and Brand Development

  • Create and manage marketing campaigns across digital, print, and trade channels.

  • Oversee the company website, social media, and content creation (case studies, blogs, newsletters).

  • Develop marketing collateral to support sales activity, including brochures, presentations, and technical documentation.

  • Strengthen Civic Trees’ brand visibility within the UK arboriculture and landscaping sectors.

  • Plan and manage attendance at trade shows, expos, networking events, and industry forums.

Marketing and Competitor Insight

  • Monitor industry trends, legislative changes, and environmental policy developments.

  • Conduct competitor analysis to inform pricing, positioning, and service development.

  • Provide strategic recommendations based on market insights.

Collaboration & internal Co-ordination

  • Work closely with operations, project delivery, and tree supply teams to ensure accurate service delivery.

  • Support the development of new services or products based on market demand.

  • Ensure clear communication flows between sales, marketing, and operational teams.

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Proven experience in sales, business development, or marketing—ideally within landscaping, horticulture, construction, environmental services, or related industries.

  • Strong understanding of B2B sales cycles and tendering processes.

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.

  • Experience managing digital marketing tools (CMS, social media, email marketing platforms).

  • Strong organisational and project management skills.

  • Competence with CRM systems and sales reporting tools.

  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel for client visits.

  • A horticultural qualification and or demonstrable experience of a horticultural or Landscape environment

Desirable Skills & Experience

  • Knowledge of arboriculture, tree planting, green infrastructure, or environmental services.

  • Experience working with Garden Designers, local authorities or commercial developers.

  • Understanding of sustainability standards, biodiversity net gain, and urban greening regulations.

  • Ability to create technical or industry-specific content.

NOTICE PERIOD

Required to give 2 weeks in the first 6Months  and 1 month thereafter
