The Opportunity
Bid Writing is a dynamic, fast-paced role in the Glendale Business Development department. Our Bid Writers are responsible for the sustainability, growth and sustained success of our business. This trainee role is designed for individuals looking to develop a career in bid writing. The successful candidate will receive full support and guidance as they build their knowledge of the bidding process and learn how to produce compelling, high-quality submissions.
As a Trainee Bid Writer, you will work alongside experienced members of the team, contributing to the coordination and drafting of written responses for large-scale green space contracts across the public and private sectors. You will have access to a tailored development plan and on-the-job coaching to support your learning journey.
The successful candidate will enjoy detailed research and writing creatively to produce compelling written bids with a competitive edge.

The Person
We are looking for someone with a passion for writing and a strong willingness to learn. Candidates should be motivated and have a positive, winning mentality. They will have critical attention to detail, an excellent eye for presentation and design, and the ability to write articulately with flare. Strong organisational and time-management skills are a must in our fast-paced environment.
Your duties will include:
Supporting the planning and development of written content for bids
Contributing to the continuous improvement of the Bid Library and Case Studies
Assisting in the coordination of inputs from different departments
Working on interesting projects such as submissions for industry awards
Taking part in training and shadowing opportunities with senior colleagues
Experience
Demonstrated writing ability
Experience working to deadlines or in time-pressured environments
Familiarity with Microsoft Office and/or Google Workspace (desirable)
Managing multiple workstreams and stakeholders effectively
Personal Qualities
Articulate, with clarity in all written material with a high level of attention to detail
A capable and confident communicator
Excellent project planning, organisational and time management skills
Development Support
This role includes:
A bespoke training and development plan
Regular one-to-one support and mentoring
Opportunities to shadow experienced team members
Internal training on bid processes, systems and strategy
Please note that there are minimal travel requirements expected with this role to ad hoc site visits throughout the year. We currently operate a hybrid-remote working environment, with 3 days in the office.
